split/join

I think that there was a split/join package somewhere.
Does anybody know where it is?
At one point it was planned to get added to squeak and  nothing  
happened.

I guess:

#(1 2 3) joinWith: ', '      ->      '1, 2, 3'

 '1:2:3' splitOn: $:     ->    #(1 2 3)

It's more a perl shard no ? :)
