support for Monochrome and Grayscale monitors

Travis Griggs-4
Does anyone need/use this still?

My inclination is no obviously, but then when I see people are still using 16bpp network monitors, it makes me realize we need to ask first.

In the Unix/X world I do sometimes encounter such installations.
So it seems wise that VW remains tolerant (will at least run headful) of such setups.

I have never needed it in a commercial setting though...

Dear Travis,
perhaps the exact question of interest is:

Does anyone maintain an app such that:

    a)  they expect to port it forward to VW 7.9 and later
and
    b) when they port forward past VW 7.9, they expect to care whether
said app can run on Monochrome and Grayscale monitors

             Yours faithfully
                   Niall Ross

For my own stuff --
Monochrome? no
But definitely reduced color depth:  8bit & 16bit
