tailing optlog, or how does MeteorJS knows about model changes?

sebastianconcept
Hi guys,

For those of you interested in real-time web apps, here is some information on how MeteorJS observes changes in mongodb so it can broadcast the proper events and reactions server and client side

https://github.com/meteor/meteor/wiki/Oplog-Observe-Driver

https://www.meteor.com/blog/2013/12/17/meteor-070-scalable-database-queries-using-mongodb-oplog-instead-of-poll-and-diff

This isn't strictly for amber but an Amber-based stack for real-time apps will greatly benefit from something like this.

This is at least some light at the end of the tunnel to catch up (we still have the productivity problem pending)
