On two, out of a total of five PCs, we experience that VisualWorks 7.6
sometimes flickers. The browsers do not flash between white & black,
but flickers more like a refresh not double-buffering would do. The
flicker is visible for only a few milliseconds. It can then take
minutes until the next time it flickers.
We think the problem appears more frequent when the PC is left without
using the mouse or the keyboard. It can however also happen during
mouse and keyboard activity.
All our PCs are running Windows XP 32 bit. They have Nvidia G73 graphic cards.
We believe the problem happened after we upgraded to VisualWorks 7.6.
We use the visual.exe VM.
So far, we have not tried to use a base image and see if the problem
is there too. We do however know that it is not connected to using any
code highlighting tools, as the flickering happens without these tools
loaded.
Has anyone else seen a similar problems in VisualWorks 7.6?
