[vwnc] Menu bug -- windows - VW7.6 ...

Dennis smith-4
Anyone reported this one before???

If I put a window with a menu-bar near the bottom of the screen such that
the menu item when pressed will almost (but not quite) bit below the bar,
it opens the menu shifted up 2 or 3 menu items, which means the cursor is ON
one of the items -- you let it go and it selects the item -- which it
should not do.

If you move the window down further, it does what windows menus do,
which is to open the full menu column above the menu-bar, and the
problem does
not occur.

This can be nasty depending on which menu item you end up selecting.

Using WinXP, with Win95 or Win98 or WinXP look -- all fail this way.

I don't see this with 7.6 on XP.

OK -- thanks -- I will now try and duplicate on a raw VW7.6 image,
maybe I clobbered something!

In reply to this post by Alan Knight-2
I figured it out.  The problem occurs if the menu item (menu-bar)
is longer vertically then 1/2 of the screen height.  If it is, it does not
handle it well, and auto-selects an item.

My "solution" will be to shorten the menu item -- its only long when
debug items are in it.
