[vwnc] Store Replication messed up in public store?

[vwnc] Store Replication messed up in public store?

Loading the Store Replication parcel in VW 7.6 and reconciling with the latest version (1.33) in the public store shows 3 changed methods. Looking at those methods, each is contained twice in the public store package: once as an old version (which reconcile finds) and once as the new version (the same as in the parcel). Browsing method versions and browsing the whole package confirm this.

Alan Knight published the latest version, so it would be interesting to know whether he published normally or by Store Replication – i.e. is this a bug in Store in general or just in the replicator.

I just started using store replication. One thing I found out is do NOT

use the Store Replication parcel, but instead load the GLORP replicator

from public store. The GLORP based replicator is much more powerful

than the Store Replicaton parcel and it also appears to be faster.

The GLORP replicator is part of the “StoreGlorp” package. I used version

2.4.77.2. It appears to me that the later versions are for vw 7.7.

Well, I published it over a year ago, so my memory wouldn't be that reliable. However, replication blessings show that I originally published it to my local database, where it also had those duplicate methods, and the replicator copied them over. That's odd, because I thought the replicator would actually eliminate them, but perhaps my memory's bad there too. Those tend to arise as a result of merge bugs which I hope are now all fixed. And yes, use the replicator in the StoreGlorp bundle, not that one.
