In terms of operating system threads, if you are using the
DLLCC THAPI calls, then there is a pool maintained automatically. If
you're just using Smalltalk processes, then I'm not aware of an
implementation, though there might be one. But I don't think it's
something that's likely to be necessary. Smalltalk processes are
extremely cheap.
