[vwnc] vw 3.0 died

Jim Harsh
Hi,

I have finally gotten my App ported to run and tested on vw7.5. I ran
the vw3.0 version on March 7, went on vacation, returned this Tuesday
and today tried to run the 3.0 version; it fails on start up. I see
the herald or banner and then it dies. The machine was down when I
was gone and the MS Office updates were installed right before I left
but vw 3.0 ran OK then ( but I don't remember rebooting between
installing the updates and running  my 3.0 ver.)

Could it be something in the Office updates that caused vw 3.0 to
die? I tried the original distribution and it fails the same way.

Thanks,
Jim

VW does rely on the standard libraries, so I suppose an update that
made a change in those could break something.  Bear in mind that VW 3
is long, long out of support

Nevermind, I think my computer is getting flaky. I rebooted and the

Ah please respect well known rules: reboot W$ asap after every update...
and also when no update.
