Answering my own post so it is not left hanging.
I was reminded that this should have gone to vw-dev, which I later did, and it was more fully answered there.
Store has been updated and old code is available in the following parcels in the Obsolete directory:

There is some documentation for this in the 7.9 release notes, "Migrating code to use new Glorp database objects"
