The version of etoys/squeak for the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) under
development these past few months is called "OLPC1.0". That version
will continue to embody the official image for the etoys submission
to the OLPC's B1 build this month. This is now essentially frozen,
but critical bugs may continue to be fixed as time permits, so some
people may still want to keep, and to continue to load updates into,
their OLPC1.0 Squeak images.
For ongoing, post-B1 etoys work, we've now established a separate 2.0
etoys image for the OLPC, and an attendant update stream called
"OLPC2.0".
You can get a 2.0 image either by evolving a copy of an existing 1.0
image or by loading a fresh 2.0 image from a server:
(1) Evolve any up-to-date OLPC1.0 image (update level 1102 or
greater) into an OLPC2.0 image by installing the attached fileout,
then loading updates, then saving the image. (A copy of this fileout
can also be downloaded from
http://tinlizzie.org/olpc/
jumpToTwoPointOh-sw.cs.gz).
(2) Alternatively, there are pre-built etoys/OLPC2.0 images
available for both the plug-in and the development versions on the
tinlizzie server. You can find them here:
http://tinlizzie.org/olpc/etoys-2.0-1111.zip -- plug-in version
http://tinlizzie.org/olpc/etoys-dev-2.0-1111.zip -- development
Whichever way you obtain a 2.0 image, please remember to load updates
regularly.
The main portal for the OLPC is:
