Hi all,
This is a simple question. Is it possible to change the font attributes on the Class Browser? On my machine the font is small and it would be nice to play with those options. Thanks, Erlis _______________________________________________ Beginners mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/beginners |

Open the world menu (left click on the "desktop"), select 'appearance...', then in the submenu, select 'system fonts...'. Here you can set various fonts used by the system. You want to change the 'code font...' and probably list font, button font, menu font, window-title font and balloon-help font. Optionally halo label font. I guess the rest doesn't affect the appearance of the browser. Note that the full changes only take effect for newly opened browsers. Try this. In the preferences panel, there's a search box. Type "big" in there without the quotes. You should see a preference in there called something like "bigDisplay." Try checking that box and opening a new window. Your font size will increase a good deal, as will various UI elements. This is really a great feature on modern high res displays. I use it almost all the time now, because Squeak looks tiny on all of the displays I have left. If the large mouse pointer (this is called the "Hand" in Squeak speak) bothers you (it annoys me,) there's also a preference to return just the hand to normal dimensions, but I can't remember what it's called off the top of my head, and I don't have Squeak handy, so I will have to leave that as an exercise for the reader. If you'd like to learn more about how preferences work in Squeak, check out the classes Preferences (a single place to interact with system preferences,) Preference (representing an individual preference,) PreferenceExample, and PragmaPreference (a new way to express preferences near the behavior they affect in the system.) Hope this helps, and have fun with Squeak! On Apr 1, 2011, at 10:37 AM, Erlis Vidal <[hidden email]> wrote:

Thanks for the answer,
I'm having fun, a lot. This reminds me the time when I was touched by programming, long time ago. I was needing this language, this community because, I felt alone doing a lot of mainstream at job and with people around that don't have any interest in the job they are doing. I was really needing you guys. Thanks for your help, thanks for keeping the spirit Erlis On Fri, Apr 1, 2011 at 3:53 PM, Casey Ransberger <[hidden email]> wrote:

Seems Test Runner turns fonts into italics. To reproduce: take a fresh 4.2 image and change your "list font" (the browser font mentioned here) to Accuny 10. Then open a "Test Runner" and run a test (or don't). Open or refresh a Browser window and notice that the list font is now italic. Go to World menu>>Appearance...>>System fonts... and see that your list font is shown as Italic but if you look at it in the Font selector it's actually a "normal" style. What got really weird when I first noticed this -- but I can't reproduce -- was when I opened "Test Runner" again, the font got italicized /again/. So the font got doubly-italicized and even harder to read. - tim _______________________________________________ Beginners mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/beginners |
