Callout Error "Failed to Initiate OpenGL"

Eisaman, Eric
To Whom It May Concern:

I have been trying for some time now to start Croquet. I continuously receive a callout error for failing to initiate OpneGL. I have installe and reinstalled OpenGl. Could there be something I'm doing wrong? Is there a special accomodation I need to make to enable the program to directly access the OpenGL libraries?

Perplexed,

Re: Callout Error "Failed to Initiate OpenGL"

David A Smith
Can you tell us a bit more about what environment you are running in?
Windows, Mac, Linux? Processor, graphics card, memory, etc?

On Mac and Windows, OpenGL should just work if it is properly installed.
On Windows, certain DirectX installs are known to remove or disable
OpenGL, which would require a reinstall from the appropriate graphics
hardware vendor.

Linux is a bit more complex, and I must defer to others on this list for
how to get that working.

Regards,

David

Would you please post your error message.  It may contain informaiton to help us understand the particular problem you are seeing.
Also what OS are you running and how did you install openGL?

That one made Les, Howard and I crazy for some time, if you're running
Linux. Les and I have pretty much identical hardware so it was easier to
chase down. First make sure you have the newest Croquet installed for
Linux. That's solve some obscure problems for ya.

If you have nVidia graphics, use their drivers, not the ones supplied by
the OS vendor. That alone made all the difference in the world for me.
YMMV, Ric
