Immersive Education in-world March Meetings (Fridays)

Aaron E. Walsh
Hello everyone. Below is a brief overview of our informal (ad-hoc) in-world
meetings happening in Second Life this month. We're also setting up our
Croquet-based meeting spaces, and will soon be able to meet in-world using
Croquet technology. In the meantime please do join us in Second Life for these
meetings -- the meetings are "platform agnostic" meaning these meetings and
conversations are generally independent of any particular 3D/VR platform.

I'll followup tomorrow or Friday with the SLURL for this Friday's meeting, and
you can always join the Second Life "Immersive Education" group if you'd like to
get a reminder in-world for these and other events:

..................................................................................
IMMERSIVE EDUCATION IN-WORLD MEETINGS: MARCH, 2008

..................................................................................
Friday March 14th - Demonstrations of avatar tracking and analysis (for
assessment/recording/safety). TIME: 1PM-2PM EST

Friday March 21st - Demonstrations of the Education Grid content review process
(includes metadata/tagging overview).  TIME: 1PM-2PM EST

Friday March 28th - Discussing the role of surface input devices in virtual
learning experiences (with video demonstrations of Croquet on touchable
surfaces).  TIME: 1PM-2PM EST
..................................................................................

Each ad-hoc meeting starts at 1pm EST (10am pacific / Second Life time) and ends
at 2pm, with additional time beyond that allocated to questions and discussion
as attendees see fit (that is, the main meeting is 1 hour but we can stay
in-world to answer questions and discuss these topics in more detail).

Regards,
Aaron
