Interesting p2p lectures: collaborative storage, reputation, economics, DHTs...

Florent THIERY-2
Hello

While thinking about croquet's decentralization possibilities i
stumbled upon this very good knowledge resource about p2p:

http://www.flud.org/wiki/index.php/RelatedPapers

May be useful, who knows.

Ciao

I sped read it and found DHT mentioned. I had worried the "air was
pretty thin", but p2p is a larger class, I suppose than mere croquet,
so, indeed, it is useful to my fears at resolution of this bug.

I shall elaborate on my phrase "air is pretty thin" as I may have made
up the phrase from American lingo which is poor manners in an
international list.

I have written an e mail in my science quests . In it I disclosed
vulnerability which might make connection between people and use . I
disclosed that I was not arrogantly representing myself, merely
connecting Hartle and Hu, great physicists already connected (an insight
from lateral thinking in the shower!). I had to connect, make a
noncontentious network to create a job opening for me, rather than push
them into the painful experience of judging and perhaps having to reject
me. I had to help them , say maybe they could do the reading to "make
the air less thin" on top of "the mountain" .

With great geniuses, I believe the wisdom of my own long life of intense
studies is to realize one's own humility in corresponding with them .
They are all approached by folks who want them to "save them". There was
a movie, "Bocacio 8 1/2", I believe, where a bunch of writers (or worse,
their mothers) were chasing this great genius to be recognized . One can
imagine the position of someone who has studied all his life to become a
genius being thrust in the position of judging and rejecting . This is
not a reward for a long life spent . This does not inspire genius . One
is not saved into such a role or job ! There is something else to do !

I have inspired genius's with one question : how is a black hole a hole
if it evaporates . First, I asked it to impress and the question was
dismissed with immediate rejection ! Then I said I wanted a hole to be a
hole to every great gravity guru who came to visit and this ultimately
led to something called "black hole complimentarity" in the hands of
great geniuses of superstring theory. It was no longer "my" question . I
had given it away .

I can only hope the Hartle Hu connection will continue to build the
network of noncontentiously building a job opening.

And now I say what you said and in precisely the same spirit "Who knows."

You tried to help with an extensive reference and maybe did a pass to
someone who could take it to the goal line .

Maybe my finding DHT in it helped a bit, too.

Thank you.

Please, wish me luck with the Hartle Hu reconnection Florent.
