Thanks. The file was imported by the Monticello Browser for Squeak in Windows XP but not in Windows Vista.
I then fileout the Laser Game categories from the XP machine and moved the files to the Vista machine. Then I asked Squeak in Vista to filein the Laser Game *.st files. It complained of a compiler error. It seems that Vista is not seeing the file correctly. Is this a know problem for Squeak in Vista? Is it something to do with file encoding in Vista being different from XP? Thanks, Aik-Siong Koh <quote author="Steve Wessels-2"> You guys are right. Thanks. I just uploaded a clean copy. |
Are you saying my updated file doesn't load properly with Monticello
under Vista? - Steve On Jan 7, 2010, at 9:13 PM, askoh <[hidden email]> wrote: > > Thanks. Yes, the same mcz that works in XP does not work in Vista. Vista cannot filein the *.st files from XP fileout either. AS Quoting "Steve Wessels-2 [via Squeak]" :

Since the .st file is a text file, character encoding may change line endings, though this shouldn't happen (because it's a windows-to-windows transfer). And dditional line feed characters shouldn't make the file unloadable, so I guess the file is corrupt. If you compare the method which had the compilation error with the original, you may see that the end of the method is missing. Levente > > Thanks, > Aik-Siong Koh > > > You guys are right. Thanks. I used Monticello Browser in both XP and Vista to import the new clean mcz file. It loaded on XP but not in Vista.
