Metacello 1.0-beta.27.6 is needed in Pharo1.0 to access certain repositories (like http://www.squeaksource.com/Swazoo). The only change is a bugfix to Gofer. The newer versions of Gofer can't be used in Pharo 1.0 because they send the message #globals to Smalltalk, so I backported the change that fixes the bug (versionNumber is nil for certain mcz file names).
Later versions of Pharo have the newer version of Gofer (that parses names in http://www.squeaksource.com/Swazoo correctly) and will not be affected ...
