[OpenSmalltalk/opensmalltalk-vm] Mac OS X: Fullscreen not as expected (#407)

 

Currently it is only possible to maximize Squeak by using the button in the MainDockingBar (it is not possible by using the green button on the window what is slightly unexpected but ok).
The fullscreen I get is a Squeak that looks like a typical Mac fullscreen but has several drawbacks:

• it is not a new desktop with only the app, but consumes the current desktop
• if you change desktop you get strange behaviour with the dock appearing
• if you use a second monitor and have a Squeak in fullscreen on your first you get a black background stretched over the whole second monitor

The expected behaviour for fullscreen would be a native Mac OS fullscreen.

Possibly releated - using Cuis5.0-3959 on MacOS High Sierra (10.13.6). I can maximize the Cuis desktop via the green full-screen button, but then cannot get it to restore. The usual full-screen restore action of moving the mouse to the top left corner works to reveal the buttons (from the OS), but the green maximize/minimize button no longer works (expected behaviour is to restore the window to not be full size).

Using squeak.cog.spur_macos64x64_201912311458.dmg for the VM.

Note: when viewing the Squeak 5.0 'About SqueakOSXApp' dialog the same behaviour occurs - I cannot close the About dialog window. It appears that there is an issue with the close/minimize/maximize buttons on MacOS High Sierra (and possibly other versions of MacOS.
