Hi everyone,
With the launch of the beta Squeakland Showcase, we'd love for any and all to upload their favorite Etoys projects! Think of it as a Squeakland housewarming party, which for those that don't know the term, it's when friends come to your new house with gifts to make the house nicer for everyone. There's two ways you can upload projects: 1) If you're using the Etoys 4 release candidate, you can upload directly from Etoys. 2) If you're already got some PR files, the go to the showcase upload page: http://squeakland.org/showcase/upload Either way, you'll need to create a free account first. A few warnings though: A) any projects or project information with inappropriate content for children will be immediately deleted B) the showcase does not currently support non-latin alphabets (8859-1), such as Japanese, Russian, etc. We will fix this as soon as we can. You can still upload projects in these other languages, you just cannot use your alphabets in the project title, description, author, or tags. C) children under 13 must have their parent or guardian create their account for them We hope to have a great selection of projects before we go live with the Etoys 4 final on October 21st. Please spread the word to everyone you know. Please help us spruce up the showcase! Take care, Tim _______________________________________________ squeakland mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakland.org/mailman/listinfo/squeakland |
Yesterday I uploaded the following project http://tinyurl.com/ye98www to squeakland showcase and today I noticed it has been deleted. My guess is the moderation board (?) person has deleted it according to warning A below.
But I belive: A: Too strict moderation will not help growing the site... B: A note to those whose projects are deleted would be nice... C: Rules should be clear enough... I saw quorem sensing project on the squeakland.org but it is only visible when I logged in. I realized that one of my "an Etoy per day" projects is not there either. I don't think there was an intentional moderation happened to it (them) but just the system is not stable yet. The rule I heard yesterday indeed tends to hide innocent projects from the site. The rule appears to be still in flux (as it is Beta), so there is a good chance that it'll be fixed. I agree your three points. -- Yoshiki _______________________________________________ squeakland mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakland.org/mailman/listinfo/squeakland |
FYI,
You can see all projects if you're logged in as admin (as Yoshiki would be). You can see *your* projects if you're logged in as you. You cannot see a project that hasn't yet been approved by the rankers, if you're not logged in. It's also possible that I did something that day, as I was fixing bugs. Try again and see if there's still a problem. Oh, and I should also say ... if a project isn't visible to outsiders,
its title is red. However, my rabbits and grass project has blue title but it does not seem to appear when I'm not logged in. BTW, it is probably a transient problem, but I cannot upload new projects now. (500 Internal Server Error) Now it seems that I can upload projects (thanks). But Nevit's quorem sensing (and my rabbits and grass) are not shown on the website and I wonder if the ballots for them actually didn't go out or such... -- Yoshiki _______________________________________________ squeakland mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakland.org/mailman/listinfo/squeakland |

I haven't wired it up yet, but my plan was to have the system take ballots away after 5 days and resend them to new people. I'll do this manually for these two projects, since several on the list are old accounts with people who are likely not listening :) Tim _______________________________________________ squeakland mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakland.org/mailman/listinfo/squeakland |
