Qcake

Eric Eisaman
Hello Squeakers,

Has anyone tried out Qcake on the xo laptop? http://www.qcake.org/index1.htm
It seems to be a much lighter install and processing load. I am still running Sugar. Should I switch to Ubuntu before trying to run Qcake?

For those who never heard of Qcake. It is an open source creative 3d environment with built in physics engine and  freely available object and sound libraries.

Cheers,

Eric Eisaman

No, the XO does not have any 3D acceleration.

Thanks Bert,

Would it be feasible to upgrade my XO to have 3D acceleration? If so, how could this be accomplished?

No, the XO is a highly integrated machine and not upgradeable (except
for additional flash memory).

If you can make a good use case for needing 3D, it's worth adding
this to the next-generation hardware wish list:

There is already a request for hardware acceleration:
