Hi Juan, hi Stef
Ive finally spent a little time following your dialog in the challenges thread. Is my understanding correct that Stef (and Marcus) are now taking responsibility for harvesting the morphic fixes? >From what I know of everyones interests this seems to me a good development. Marcus is off.
So I will see if I find time. Over the last two weeks I did not even had one evening for me. Hi Jerome
If you want to take over morphic and produce mcz files for me this is also ok. This will just be more responsibilities for you. Hi Stef,
Thank you for the compliment of offering me the responsibility. I'm afraid it is not one I can accept. My patron prefers that I spend what time I have for squeak in observing, reporting, and fixing bugs. For me this is best done with change sets. My perception is that MC and I are not yet ready for each other. I will continue to contribute what I can to squeak and morphic. Thank you again for your efforts to recruit others to help. And your vision and efforts for a more capable squeak. Too bad because when you fix a bug you would just publish from the latest release a new mcz file and it would be done.... DONE. You know done. Now I have to load cs and spot the changes and republish..... Anyway. > > For me this is best done with change sets. My > perception is that MC and I are not yet ready for each > other. Hi stef,
I am usually right about what my perceptions are, and I usually have a good reason for perceiving things the way I do. I will post more on the subject of fixes, changesets and MC. It will take me a while to organize my thoughts. I know you are pushing to make your job of harvesting easier. If it were easy for me to comply I would. It is not. Marcus seemed to have a way of dealing well with change set fixes. What did he do? With pain... save the cs on the disc open the file list loader load the cs check if this is ok and that there is no problem load it identify the packages that were made dirty save the package with a comment while with MCZ - we check the package by clicking on it - move it to 3.9 and this is done. and common to both approaches create a script try to reload everything > > Yours in service, --Jerome Peace > > > > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Tired of spam?
