Hi Tobias,
but if we were trying CC=clang somewhere upper, then this would overwrite?
also note that gcc 6.4 also failed with an internal error on appveyor (cygwin mingw32 cross compilation).

maybe. there are too many moving things. but using the clang setting in Travis seems right..
