Once XO machines reach kids, we should expect OLPC folks taking video
footage of kids really doing something with them - and those great
footage would go around the globe - right? Kids themselves become
proof - ambassadors.

So that much of the degenerated (er, for example, tv watching) adults
and teachers and geeks would sit up straight and say

"okay, we have to live bit differently from now on. we have to use
computers in bit more worthwhile, thoughtful ways."

(no? revolution won't arrive that way?

...it might come a little earlier if we make kids ambassadors. Or
that's too cheap? )

ax@still don't understand why Squeak website has no section made and
run by kids(or youth)!

There is quite some material about the XOs in kids hands already. You
can read on the Wiki about the pilot schools, for example:

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Galadima

Here is a nice one:

Because it takes a lot of effort to maintain. I agree there should be
one, yes.

I guess we could make one. Are there any kids out there that want to do
this ?
I think a better way to go is to look at what Scratch has accomplished
with their  page at scratch.mit.edu.
That is the kind of page etoy needs.

There are also many laws regulating children's content posted online
which include a variety of requirements of the host, etc.  That said,
we do hope to add more children's created content in 2008.
cheers,
Kim

Amela Sadagic
Kim,

It may be good to check the experiences of Thinkquest program, perhaps
the oldest program that has kids involved in collaboration and content
creation (started in 1995). They have very good knowledge of all
regulations involved in this type of online activities.

        Thinkquest: http://www.thinkquest.org/
        Thinkquest New York City: http://www.tqnyc.org/

best,
Amela
