All,
Thank you for your patience. The election for the Squeak Foundation Board of 2007 has now started. Here are some stats on the voter list. I received 396 email addresses. (Thank you Cees) 4 lines were blank. 5 Emails were duplicates 3 Email addresses needed to be translated (for example Ron (at) USMedRec (dot) com) One of those addresses once translated became a duplicate of another. 1 Address was rejected by the voting system In all 386 were sent out. If you did not get an email for voting and you believe you should please contact me at [hidden email] . Eligible voters are those that had a squeak people certification of at least Apprentice when the voter list was exported. Please Vote! Thank you for your participation, Ron Teitelbaum Squeak Elections Team Member |
Just thought I'd make sure everyone noticed we've started the stage in
which everyone's participation is critical. If you have not received an email explaining how to vote, and should have, please send a mail to both Ron and myself soon - voting will be open only for ~3 days. Please note that the elections wiki page has been updated by some of the candidates, giving more reading material to base the decision on. Also remember to complete the process by pressing the "Vote" button near the bottom when the ranking on screen fits your final preferences. Thanks, Daniel Vainsencher and the elections team Ron Teitelbaum wrote: > All, > > Thank you for your patience. The election for the Squeak Foundation Board > of 2007 has now started. Please contact the server administrator, [hidden email] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Maybe if the team use Squeak for Squeak elections... Edgar __________________________________________________ Preguntá. Hi Edgar,
The site seems to be working, I checked your link and it looks good. Please try your link again. Hopefully the problem that you experienced is fixed. I sent an email to the administrator just to be sure. I like using a third party tool since it increases the likelihood of a fair and impartial election. Hi Edgar!
Just wanted to state that it was my position when the Elections team was created that what we need is a way to make decentralized decision, and that elections are just one instance, and that it would be cool to have a Squeaky tool to do this. However, I didn't (don't) have time to implement it, and for the goal of having the first election more or less on time, we chose to use an existing, time tested tool. If someone is interested in playing around with some ideas, please join the elections list. Daniel Edgar J. De Cleene wrote: > I don't question. Only I wish Squeak was used . > > Edgar > > |

Well, when Ralph authorize me to release 3.10, I glad to use it for anything. I could build some web app on top of HttpView for voting and this could run on some reliable server. I again thanks you and Ron. I could log and vote. Edgar __________________________________________________ Preguntá. Respondé. Descubrí.
