Squeak cursors being shown even when in background?

I'm noticing the Squeak write cursor appearing even when another app is in front. Is this new?

osx 10.10.5 with the 5.1 vm

Unfortunately, the image that was doing that ran out of memory overnight and died. I have not been able to recreate.

Not only could I not create it, I found it hard to quit the attempt. I had basically used up loads of memory with big Forms and when I tried to quit the image without saving, it tried to do Form class>>shutDown which tried to hibernate all existing Forms. Which was not necessary in this case and seemed to be taking an awful long time.

Well, it is happening again and I have paused the image for now, so if anyone has any ideas of something to look for here, let me know.

osx 10.10.5 It doesn't happen all the time, but it feel like the vm occasionally loses track of what's in front. Here is an example:
