Squeak....

Je sais pas trop, mais c'est peut être le bon moment après ton "Stef's
Squeak Grand Vision" de proposer la roadmap plus formelle pour x années
à venir, et voir qui est prêt à s'investir dans un des aspects clés
spécifique (enfin il y a le truc de la VM et de la UI)

Une roadmap bien visible et réaliste ça peut donner aussi de la crédibilité.

Franchement un Squeak fiable avec WXWidget ça pourra faire très très mal
car l'IDE Squeak est super bien comparé à ce que les gens sous Pyhton ou
Ruby sont obligés de se prendre (mon pote à Taiwan programme RoR avec
Emacs....). Et puis ça donnerait un sacré coup de jeune...
Enfin c'est l'impression que j'en ai vu depuis la communauté du libre.

Faudrait voir si Rob serait prêt à participer à squeak.org par rapport à
son travail avec le wxwidget.

Là moi j'atteins mes limites de crédibilité, c'est à toi et à d'autres
de la SqF de jouer et de souder la communauté.

Please understand, Hilaire, that AFAICT there is not a lot of support
for a vision of a single grand Squeak. My feeling is that most on the
SqF board are more interested in a minimal Squeak (really really
minimal) shepherded by the SqF, and let the community sort it out.

If you want a great, native-widgets based, Squeak IDE for general
software development - say on par with Dolphin or VAST or VW - then by
all means, go ahead. I'd welcome such an effort. And I'm sure that
we'll point to it from Squeak.org by the time it's there.

But there's really no need to wait for some sort of formal centralized
blessing here. Just do it. Assume no-one else will :)
