Hi,
I was on my way to Squeakland to download an eToys pdf, and I ended up by accident at the Squeak.org site. It looks amazing. Nice work, webmaster! Chris Cunnington Toronto |

It has improved very *very* much! There is one thing still missing though, which would make it even better - i think. The Squeak (mouse) Image on top should link back to the main page - this is common practice. There is a tiny link below it, that does just that... (it should be removed i feel when the image links back - i think). -jeroen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Cunnington" <[hidden email]> Newsgroups: gmane.comp.lang.smalltalk.squeak.general Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 3:35 AM Subject: Web Site Looks Great > Hi, > > I was on my way to Squeakland to download an eToys pdf, and I ended up by > accident at the Squeak.org site. Go to some pages or sub-pages and you'll see it change. |
I agree the new site looks good.
One suggestion, how about adding IRC information to the community page? regards ------------------------ Frank Caggiano The best education for the best is the best education for all. Robert Maynard Hutchins |

On taking a look to see what Brad meant, I went to the screenshots page and noticed that it is rather sparse. Anyone wanting to make a contribution to Squeak at the cost of a little time might like to generate a few more interesting shots. It would be nice to have shots for any projects or products, not to mention a few groups to help show the tools - a shot with the various MC browsers, one with normal programming tools, etc. And of course any fun appearance setups using nice fonts/colours/whatever. tim -- tim Rowledge; [hidden email]; http://www.rowledge.org/tim Strange OpCodes: IAM: Increase Amperage Above Maximum |

It looks fine on my Safari. Any particular places where it has a problem? Of course if you insist on using a microsoft product you're bound to get trouble.... tim -- tim Rowledge; [hidden email]; http://www.rowledge.org/tim Cashew: nut that makes you sneeze |

That'd be great. Just send the screenshots, movies would be good too!, and the text about the shot to the webteam and we'll stick 'em in. -- brad fuller www.bradfuller.com |

I did some basic clicking with my Mac setup. I have a G4 tower running OS 10.4.8. I clicked here and there with FF and Safari, and did not see any problems. It looks great. Now, 2 small remarks: - I find a bit weird the link squeak (for home) under the banner... maybe it's possible to associate home by clicking the banner - Also, the display of dates in the weekly squeak news rss is a bit heavy... I think a format like 12/12/2006 11:55pm would be clearer or even no information about dates... Anyway looks far better :) Thanks for all ! cédrick |

Maybe we should disable the path template... > - Also, the display of dates in the weekly squeak news rss is a bit > heavy... Having dates are in my opinion good, it shows things are updated and maintained. Karl > > > Anyway looks far better :) Thanks for all ! > > cédrick > > |
