Hi
I have a question: since I changed my address to gmail I do not see my reply to certain email in the mailing-list. It seems that other see them. Does anybody experience the same? Is it a setup in the gmail account. Sorry but I never realized how disrupting it was when reading thread to not see your own emails :) Stef |

Hi Stéphane,

I'm a GMail user too, and whenever I write an e-mail in response to a list mail that also goes to the list, I immediately see the e-mail in the conversation I responded to. (What a long and winded sentence, by the way.) I don't actually *receive* the e-mail as such, though; i.e., I don't find it marked "unread" in my inbox. It gets comfortable over time. :-) Best, Michael |

Yes, I seem to miss emails. I only see them when someone else replies sometimes. >From: stephane ducasse <[hidden email]> >Reply-To: The general-purpose Squeak developers >list<[hidden email]> >To: The general-purpose Squeak developers >list<[hidden email]> >Subject: about the list and some messages not showing up >Date: Tue, 26 Sep 2006 21:50:09 +0200 > >Hi > >I have a question: since I changed my address to gmail I do not see my >reply to certain >email in the mailing-list. My experience has been that if you post to a list you will not see
your first email but then as soon as some one responds then it will show up in the "conversation" as gmail calls it. bakki On 9/26/06, stephane ducasse <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hi > > I have a question: since I changed my address to gmail I do not see > my reply to certain > email in the mailing-list. I'm actually quite comfortable with the way it is, but thanks for pointing this out. [Soft music! Thoughtful voice:] You know, I've learnt something today... :-D Best, Michael |

Ah, I missunderstood the initial post then. I miss actual list mails. It
happens at least once a week that someone makes a post obviously to the list, but I only see it from the responses of others. It is like a reverse kill file or something. >From: Andreas Raab <[hidden email]> >Reply-To: The general-purpose Squeak developers >list<[hidden email]> >To: The general-purpose Squeak developers >list<[hidden email]> >Subject: Re: about the list and some messages not showing up >Date: Tue, 26 Sep 2006 13:31:16 -0700 > >Michael Haupt wrote: >>I'm a GMail user too, and whenever I write an e-mail in response to a >>list mail that also goes to the list, I immediately see the e-mail in >>the conversation I responded to. The fun part is that sometimes I see my mails sometimes not....
So I guess that I will change to my other email address again :( On 6 oct. 06, at 20:51, Andreas Raab wrote: > Brad Fuller wrote: >> This may already have been mentioned, but here is the gmail info >> on this subject: >> http://gmail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py? >> answer=6588&ctx=en:match > > Eeek. It is not as bad as it sounds. Your outgoing email to a list is
automatically archived and does not show up in the inbox only the very first time. But as soon as there is a thread then it does show up in the thread. But it will always be there in your sent mail and all mail boxes. -bakki On 10/6/06, Andreas Raab <[hidden email]> wrote: > Brad Fuller wrote: > > This may already have been mentioned, but here is the gmail info on this > > subject: > > http://gmail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6588&ctx=en:match > > Eeek.
