color category in OLPC

Randy Heiland
Can someone explain or provide an example of using the Color category in OLPC etoys?  All I see are zeros for its members for my object and changing the values causes no visible effect.

trying to model a blinking Christmas tree with my kids on a rainy day,
Randy

The color category does not work for Sketches, you need an Ellipse,
Rectangle, Polygon or similar object.

Probably we should hide the color category if it does nothing ...

Color category does not work with painted objects, only the ones dragged
from the objects tool.
Maybe the viewer should hide the Color category for SketchMorphs ?

In the traditional Squeakland image, there are in fact no color-
related items offered in a Sketch's viewer.

But some olpc-specific changes over the past year resulted in the
addition of several new color-related slots and a refactoring of the
color-related categories, and as a result we've for some time now
we've been seeing the spurious color category and its spurious color-
related slots being offered in a Sketch's viewer.

I've entered this bug on the TRAC system as ticket #5437 "Viewer for
SketchMorph should not show color-related items".

And I've just published an update to the etoys2.3 update stream
(1827sketchColor-sw) which fixes the bug.

Cheers,
