based on intel.

but your Subject line said VisualWorks. ;)

I don't know if it does, but when my laptop comes, I will give a short
experience report if you would like.

Ah, just in time to lend or give said MacBook to me so I can confirm
if it works or not....

However I will note that a number of things need to happen for the
Carbon VM to be converted. I don't know if it runs under Rosetta on
the machine, no-one has yet said.

a) Getting a mac intel machine to test on.
b) Time on my side to do the work.
d) Coding up a MacIntel FFI assembler interface.
e) Cross checking endian issues
f) Recompiling a bunch of standalone plugins (aka MP3)

Likely at the same time we'll switch to unix file names with HFS+
alias support and enable the ability to load unix libraries versus
plugins.

I believe for the unix version

a) Rewrite of the screen display update logic to handle byte swapping
(likely)
b) The FFI interface
c) Recompiling a bunch of standalone plugins (aka MP3)

Thanks.
I wanted to know if it was for me to switch to that kind of machines
for both Squeak and VW :)
