recent Mantis server/app changes?

timrowledge
Has anyone recently altered the Mantis setup? I've noticed two
problems today that I don;t recall ever having before.
a) 'my view' shows nothing assigned to me in the 'Squeak' project.
However, 'view issues' and restrict to  items assigned to 'tim' shows
the 22 items I expect.
b) when I look at the report I've just created -  http://
bugs.squeak.org/view.php?id=6669 - I see no content to my note
(0011121) unless I edit it when all is revealed.

Same problem in Firefox, so probably not a Safari issue.

Great leaders inspire by example. When that's not an option, brute
intimidation works pretty well.

And two more problems -
c) if I try to set a report to 'feedback' it doesn't let me say who
I'm asking for the feedback - which completely ruins the whole point
d) I just got an email *from* mantis relating to #6669 that Andreas
had updated for me  - the email had no body whatsoever. How helpful!

Has mantis been 'improved' to make it useless as well as annoying,
perhaps?

Well, it wasn't 'recent'.  Back in March with assistance from Jens Holze
the Mantis instance was moved to the community server.  This was done by
setting up the software anew and moving the database content, as a
result it is possible that the software is newer now, although I'm not
certain about that now.  There have been no changes since then.  However
the configuration was not simply copied and I just did my best to
replicate it.  It's possible I missed some things.

I had noticed this as well but given it little thought.  I'll try to
figure out if this is something that needs to be enabled in the
configuration.

Now, that's odd, I've not seen that.  I'll look into it.

Well, as far as I'm aware that has never been the case, and I don't see
that it matters.  Unless they have configured it otherwise, the original
reporter of a message, the assignee, and anyone who has added a note to
a message receives an email whenever anything changes regarding an
issue, including a note being added, status changed, etc.  This includes
the case of you changing the report to 'feedback'.  So you do not
expressly have to select who you are asking, it is presumed to be the
reporter and/or one of the other commenters.

Odd again.  This is the first report of this I have had.  I'm not sure
what to say, I get messages quite regularly and haven't had a blank one
yet.

Again, unless we've been hacked, there have been no changes since March.

It turns out this was due to a configuration setting I made when we
first moved Mantis to the community server.  Unfortunately I have no
idea now why I set it.  For now I've commented it out and the My View
page now works as expected.

This was fixed after first upgrading Mantis from 1.0.6 to 1.0.8 (which
had no effect on this) then using the version of the string_api.php file
from Mantis CVS HEAD (as recommended by Paul Richard on #mantishelp).
Hopefully this won't lead to other problems.
