Thanks for the endorsement! I'll write more when we have an election
process in place for this year, but feel I owe an explanation to the
people who have suggested in previous years that I run for the board.
Since I was developing my own language/operating system (Neo Smalltalk),
it didn't seem ethical to me to officially participate in influencing
Squeak's direction. The board should have pigs rather than chickens
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chicken_and_the_Pig). But since my
project had a major change in strategy (the goals are the same) last
September and is now fully based on Squeak, I feel my position is
different this year.
