[squeak-dev] Rules, we wish rules

Edgar J. De Cleene
So following my taste  for racing cars as example.

We wish a Formula One - Rules was FIA and change from season to season -
2009 car in not the car is running now, but if we wish be on top, we should
start to work on it now.

We wish a WRC World Rally Car - Again FIA rules for 2009 was different of
2008

We wish only run DTM cars The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM, German
Touring Car Masters) is a touring car racing series based in Germany, but
also with rounds elsewhere in Europe.

So no DTM outside Europa...

So buddies, which car we wish build ?

I said Board is FIA for us, but we don't have clear rules now.

I hope my "bad ways" ends in very clear rules.

And then any could choose which type of cars and form teams.

It's not bad be Mclaren Mercedes or Renault or BMW if some don't like be on
Ferrari.

I have tree types of car now for all could drive.
SqueakLight , FunSqueak and 3.10, how many types you have for I drive ?

I not force you to use any.
But please let me build a 2009 model...

See all at Monaco for drink a beer or cofee and hope us fanatics of Ferrari
have a "red podium" again. :=)

Edgar

PS. And Fangio is the best driver of all times, when man was important and
cars don't have computers into.

And for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_car_racing

Here you see a single type could be so complicated.
Here I see the Prototipos in life in 1971 , see pict of ticket my father buy
for us.
In that race , Ignacio Giunti lost his life in a terrible crash 200 mt from
us.
He drive a Ferrari 312P .
In that era, Ferrari and Porsche was the cars to beat, Porsche take the
prize.

Not always you could win...

By the way , what every day car you have , if any?
How you pick that car ?
Maybe so I understand you more...

Cheers
Edgar

Edgar,

releasing next, better, nicer and cleaner image is not a race, and
there is no single winner in competition.

Releasing new squeak have nothing to do with competition
it should be based on cooperation and compromises with all interested parties
to hear all voices and to compile requirements for future release
and if you reject to heed the people, you forcing community to abandon
your 'ferrari' team and see other places where they can get what they
need.

We could win only if we join our efforts, carefully listening all
points of view and finding compromises.

Hi Edgar,

you are expressing yourself using analogies. I feel nobody is getting
your point. That race car communication is just a mess of confussion. Please
take a deep breath
(http://www.wired.com/medtech/health/magazine/16-05/gs_08dontpanic) and try to
explain things without analogies. Speak, demand, propose, defend and/or refutate
directly. I understand you like analogies, nothing against that, but know
philosophers knows this for centuries, analogies are the most weak way of
argumentation so I, again, suggest you to use other, more direct, ways.

We need to let passions aside to make brain to prevail. I don't know about
others and I'm not saing is the case but I need (and want) a Squeak gestated by
brains thinking powerful ideas not passionate hearts suffering from a mere
transident storm of hormones.

        cheers,

Sebastian Sastre
PD: If you want an analogy try this: this is an intellectual herd like in the
Battle at Kruger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_at_Kruger) having to join
efforts on its common goal. I'm sure you understand it is the opposite of having
a separatist attitude inspired by radical ideas in which isolation will feed
lions and left a smaller herd. In the intellectual herd they can loose on lions
a good idea.
