squeak on ubuntu

Latest Ubuntu comes with compviz (3D window effects) enabled. Now one
can look through most of the squeak window buttons (see screenshot). Any
idea how this can be easily solved from within Squeak?

PS: povray seems to have a similar problem with its render window.
