If you have tool that can do it, I'd suggest trying to set the colour to the average of the rice paper pattern. It might make things flow nicely, maybe, perhaps. There's probably some single-click tool in photowotsit to derive an average of the colour in an area.
The main banner text seems a bit off to me; what do people think about -

My minor problem is that it isn't really true about the virtual machine (there is a lot that needs to be written for each platform) and anyway why would anyone taking a peek even know what a VM is? There's probably less than 100 people on the planet that really care about VMs.
