The mouse-wheel will move the camera in and out in the current control layout. I certainly can make sure the key sequence works (I think it used to be ctrl-a), it just seemed less important now we have the
mouse-wheel which gives a finer control.

how do I get first-person ? it used to be shift-cmd-a or something.
third-person is a confusing waste of pixels; one's viewpoint should be first-person by default :-)
I disagree strongly, third person appears to be important to psychologically establish ones
presence and identity in the space as well as alow for more complex interactions without confusion. I know very few people who use 1st
person regularly in any other virtual world environment and when they do it is usually for specific situations.
