which mailing list to use?

Timothy Falconer
Hi,

Last question and I'll be quiet for a while :)

Which mailing list is best to use for OLPC-Etoys stuff, the
squeakland one or the [hidden email] one?

Yes, the question appears self-evident, but things are not always as
they seem :)

Is [hidden email] the bleeding edge list and squeakland is for the
older image?

Tim

The [hidden email] list is specifically for discussing the version
of Etoys on the OLPC XO machine.

The Squeakland list is for general discussion between teachers,
parents, and developers, mostly about educational use of Squeak but
occasionally on even broader topics.

Is it true that the OLPC-Etoys version will soon become the official
non-XO version as well (the one downloaded from Squeakland)?  (ie,
will there be just one version)

If so, would it be safe to say  that tech stuff go to
[hidden email] and general stuff to [hidden email]?

That is indeed what we plan to do. The version downloaded from
Squeakland will only differ in the preferences enabled by default
(for example, use the classic nav bar and smaller fonts).

This has not been the intention of the etoys list, it was created to
discuss Etoys in the context of OLPC.

Lets hear what others think.
